YOUR NEXT DEADLINE - PLANNING TASKS



Deadline Two: Ongoing Research and Pre-Production Planning (refer to pages 7-8 of booklet)

- Ongoing Research into other short films following same structure as in deadline one.

- Pre Production Planning - Use the checklist on Page 8 and the advice on Page 7 of your booklet to document all aspects of this:- Roles, ideas rejected, application of MRANG, synopsis of story, detail of plot on animatics, script, written permissions, location research, Health and safety, Costume, Hair, makeup and props for characterization, organization of actors, lighting, sound, experimentation.
-  audience feedback on story ideas, proposed characters and scenes (can be gathered and presented through social networking sites), with comments posted

SHORT FILM RESEARCH DEADLINE - FRIDAY SEPT 23rd

Your deadline for researching short films (5-7) independently and individually is FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 23rd @Midnight. 
Use the ADVANCED PORTFOLIO BOOKLET and LESSON NOTES (see Moodle for copies of both) as guidance. Make sure you have addressed all of the elements of the task to achieve the highest grades possible. The extract below is from the last page of the booklet above, but detail is on the earlier pages looked at in lessons.


Deadline One: Initial Research (refer to pages 4-6 of booklet)

- Your first homework research on short films and improved following teacher comments.
- Each group member to post research into a further 5 – 7 short films.  Remember to apply at least 3 MRANG concepts to each film.  See page 5-6 of booklet for guidance.
- Comment on aspects of the films you find successful or interesting, and suggest elements of these films that could inspire your group’s work.
- Complete a separate posting on title – analyzing the word/s for meaning and effect/s and its presentation/design. Compare for similarities and differences here and describe any initial ideas that you have for your own film.
- Suggest an audience profile for each, commenting on what may be learned by where the film was found (eg Youtube? Virgin Media? etc)
- Always aim to make best use of IT-  appropriate blog structure, format (multi-media) and variety of posts
- Clearly label each post with your Name, a title of “Initial research into Short Films” and then follow the advice at the bottom of page 4.

YOUR CURRENT DEADLINE:

You should be setting up your new blog and have completed this by the beginning of week commencing Sept 12th.
1 As soon as this is set up, you must EACH upload your EVALUATION FILM OF AS SKILLS that you completed as part of the Transition work in June/July. DEADLINE FOR BOTH GROUPS IS MONDAY SEPT 12TH.
2 In addition, your analysis of REPRESENTATIONS OF AGE AND SOCIAL CLASS IN THE SHORT FILM 'ABOUT A GIRL', which you wrote last terms in Andrew's lessons must also be uploaded. *If for some reason you did not complete this task, it is essential that you do it now to avoid losing marks for research and planning. DEADLINE MONDAY SEPT 12TH.
3 If you completed an analysis of representations of GENDER in 'Never Forget', you should also upload this to gain marks for it. This was extension work in July, and if you didn't do it then, you can always do it now.
All short films used in lessons last term are on moodle (A2 Media Studies>Advanced Portfolio>Transition.
