HELP WITH RESEARCH INTO FILM POSTERS

STARTING THE POSTER WORK AND UPCOMING DEADLINES



IT'S VITAL FROM NOW ON TO KEEP TO THE DEADLINES WE'VE SET, ESPECIALLY FOR THE POSTER AND REVIEW WORK. THIS ENSURES THAT YOU COMPLETE YOUR WHOLE PORTFOLIO TO A GOOD STANDARD BY THE FINAL PORTFOLIO DEADLINE AT THE END OF TERM.

Deadline 1 – Initial Research
Each student to post at least 3 to 4 analyses of relevant and real posters
to the blog (average 12 per group). See checklist on what to include.

Deadline 2 – initial planning
Each member of group to create an initial draft for a poster design in Photoshop,
with accompanying analysis of decisions made.  (Cover conventions, layout and MRANG).
Upload any photographic images that are used in your poster design on a separate post
and explain any modifications that are made.


WEDNESDAY December 3rd Midnight

Deadline 3 – planning and final submission
As a group, show at least 3 stages through which your poster(s) have evolved to show process. The expectation is that you will have two posters in development.
Collect Audience feedback during this process.
Justify all your decisions and alterations.

Ensure that there is a post discussing branding (development of logo and titling
and use across both mediums).

Each individual member of the group to post a clearly labeled analysis of conventions, layout and MRANG, as applied to the final poster.
Final Poster clearly posted as final version – upload to blog and into appropriate completed folder on Mac Network.

Audience Feedback on completed Poster.

YOU ARE NOW IN THE MIDDLE OF THE EDITING PHASE - DEADLINE NOVEMBER 21ST



Final Deadline Four: Editing

Final edit (vision and sound) completed, and filed in correct folder. 

On the group blog by the deadline below:

- Evidence of editing process taking place and all members of the group being involved.
- Evaluative and illustrated discussion of editing (image and sound) decision making.
- Documentation of any image editing effects used and why
- Audience feedback used in editing decision making process.
- Evaluative and illustrated discussion about sound editing – dialogue, foleys and music (techniques used, sources used, reasoning behind decision making).
- Discussion of film titles and credits used (making parallels to real media texts).
- Audience feedback gathered on the completed film – is it successful regarding Narrative, Representation, Genre, Targeting Audience and were the various aspects of Film Language successful in communicating meaning?  This needs to be thorough.

- Finished film uploaded via youtube to the blog

 Friday November 21st Midnight.
 Make sure you have read these points carefully and covered them all.
