It's very disappointing and very surprising that only 1 group has posted anything at all over half term. This is a reminder that in order to succeed in this unit of your A Level, you are expected to post to the blog very frequently, and this is your homework commitment. You should EACH be posting most days, and this includes the intense period of filming that is expected at half term. YOU HAVE ONLY 5 MORE DAYS UNTIL THE FILMING AND BLOGGING DEADLINE FOR THIS PHASE OF THE WORK. LATE AND INSUFFICIENT WORK IS PENALISED VIA THE MARK SCHEME, and most of these marks cannot be redeemed later.
Winner of the new award for short film at the London Film Festival - just announced!
You have only this week left before Half Term. If you are hoping to film during half term, make sure you have booked a camera, lighting equipment, gels/filters, reflectors, tripod etc. Make sure you have all of the props, costume, make-up etc ready to go too. You must get the go-ahead from us in order to film, and some groups have still to complete essential planning tasks.
REMEMBER THAT PRACTICE FILMING, EDITING AND THE SHOOTS THEMSELVES OFFER GREAT OPPORTUNITIES TO BLOG, WITH IMAGES SHOWING THE ABOVE ACCOMPANIED BY EXPLANATIONS.
I have been checking completion of planning tasks this evening. Although several important tasks are done, storyboarding, and the two animatics are missing in several groups. These are in fact the most important planning tasks, and the evidence examiners are particularly looking for on your blog. Many groups are jeopardising time management marks, or have already lost some.
BOTH ANIMATICS MUST BE COMPLETED EARLY THIS WEEK.
YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO START FILMING UNTIL THESE ARE DONE, AND YOU ARE NOW USING YOUR FILMING TIME TO PLAN. USE HOMEWORK TIME AND STUDY PERIOD TIME TO ADD TO LESSON TIME - THIS IS EXPECTED OF YOU AT A2, AND IS ESSENTIAL TO YOUR PERSONAL SUCCESS, AND YOUR GROUP'S SUCCESS.
USE YOUR CHECKLIST IN THE BOOKLET TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE COMPLETED ALL THE TASKS FOR THE PLANNING DEADLINE (SUMMARY IN LAST POST). WE'LL BE CHECKING THIS OVER THE WEEKEND, AND RECORDING YOUR INDIVIDUAL ACHIEVEMENT ON THIS STAGE ON ETRACKR IN COLLEGE. GOOD LUCK WITH THIS IMPORTANT STAGE! WE'RE ONTO THE FILMING STAGE NEXT WEEK.
Remember to look in the booklet for more detail on sections of the deadline below, as well as the checklist for this stage of the process. Research should be ongoing, and I will still be making comments about research posts, as well as more recent posts. Please keep checking your blog and make improvements as suggested.
